Special holiday message - Fourth of July
The fourth of July is not only a day of rest, drinks, cookouts, camping, late night fireworks & etc, but it's more of a day of recognition for all the great & bold action that helped create who we are today. The fourth of July is also about freedom, liberty & the birthday of our country. Not to mention, the declaration of independence was approved by the Second Continental Congress on July 4th, 1776 which contributes a big part of why we celebrate the 4th of July.
To me, however, it’s a celebration of what we did & have accomplished in the past rather than where or what we are going in the future. As Americans, I feel that we celebrate things by commemorating them instead of living up to them. We commemorate those that died on the Fourth to give us our freedom, but at the same time, we don’t recognize our freedom that we have today because of these brave people & when we do recognize our freedom & what we have, we sometimes take it for granted or forget why we have the freedom we have. You need to understand that freedom isn't free & we should always give honor & thanks to those who paid that price for us to give us our freedom.
I do believe that the Fourth should still be a day where people come together to cookout, hangout & watch fireworks. However, cookouts, hangouts & fireworks should be done in memorial & celebration of our independence, & not just for the sake of it. In my opinion, people should honor the Fourth every day of their lives & should not allow the actions of our forefathers to be naught or forgotten. We should salute & give thanks to each & everyone of our troops for their strength, courage, determination & their ultimate sacrifice to keep us safe. You will never be forgotten. Thank you for all that you do.
Happy Fourth of July to our great country!
God bless!
