Special holiday message - Mothers day:
Mother's day is not necessarily about the "gifts" that you give to her, but rather a day to reflect on all that your mother has done for you, as well as the unconditional love & support that she has given to you, along with the advice, guidance, encouragement, inspiration, motivation & strength that she has provided to you, as well as the circumstances that she has given up & have sacrificed for you all throughout your childhood years. Ultimately, it is a time where we pause to say, thank you for all that you've done for me.
Not only should we use Mothers day to reflect upon what our Moms have done for us, but I truly believe that everyday should be Mothers day. We should not have to rely on "Mothers day" to show our Moms how much we love them, because in my opinion it's being ungrateful & selfish. We should love our moms everyday, whether they are alive or not. They should be appreciated & validated on a daily basis. Whether you're mom has treated you badly in the past or at some point, that is still no excuse. Nobody is perfect. Sure, we may sometimes dislike or hate something that our Moms have said, or done, but to be honest, our Moms are always taking care of our needs without expecting anything from us. In return, we sometimes take everything they do for granted, thinking that everything is their job & their responsibility, when in reality, it's really our job & responsibility. I'm sure at some point you're mom has done good deeds for you for whatever the reason may be. That should be enough to give recognition & say, "thank you."
With that being said, I want to give a shout out to my Mother for a minute & give her a BIG thank you for all that she's done for me. Without my mom, I wouldn't be here right now. I honestly don't know where I would be. My Mom has done so many things for me in the past that have made my life so much easier when at times I've felt helpless. She's been there when I was sick. She's been there when I needed help on my homework. She's been there when I was struggling in school. She's been there to help support, encourage & motivate me to be a better person everyday. She's been there to stand up for me. She's been there when I was in the hospital because of my asthma. Not only that, but she works hard to make sure that I've got a roof over my head, food on my plate, & a place to sleep. Again, thank you for all that you've done. You've made the ultimate sacrifice by being a Mother, just so you could take care of me. You're my role model.
P.s Say thanks to your Moms while they are in your lives & do not wait until they are gone.
Happy Mothers Day to all the Moms out there!
