Special holiday message - Thanksgiving:
Thanksgiving is a time to pause & give thanks for the bounty of our country & to gather as a family to celebrate. Thanksgiving is a holiday that is all about counting our blessings & sharing a meal with loved ones. It is not about presents, shopping & commercialism. In our plugged in, "high-tech world," Thanksgiving is a time when we can focus on the truly important things in life: spending time with those we love & taking stock of all we have to be grateful for. It is a time to embrace traditions, both old & new, & to celebrate our families, both the ones we are born into & the ones we choose.
I am thankful for my friends & family who support me & stick beside me all throughout my life, while I remember those who are alone with nobody to help, guide, or support them in life. I am thankful for my health, while I pray for those who are extremely sick with a disease or have cancer. I am thankful for having a roof over my head, clothes to wear, a bed to sleep on, a fridge with food inside, a shower to clean myself & a toilet to use & etc, while praying for those who are sitting outside on the streets or on a curb, homeless. I am thankful for having a lot of high-tech devices in this world. Ex: Cell phones, computers, TVs, Ipods, Ipads, GPS navigation systems, & much more, while others are less fortunate to get their hands on today's high quality products. I am thankful for those who fight for our country, while remembering those who sacrificed their lives to keep our country safe. I am thankful for having 10 fingers, 10 toes, 2 arms, 2 legs, 2 eyes, 2 ears, 2 kidneys, a nose & a big heart filled with lots of love & appreciation, while others are less fortunate & do not have these human qualities. I am thankful for being alive every day, every week, every month & every year, seeing the colors of life when waking up, while remembering all those who aren't with us today. I am thankful for being educated & smart, while praying for those who may have dropped out of school or have had a hard time growing up as a child or have been exposed to the wrong things in life. I am thankful for having two loving parents who care deeply for me, my Mother & my Father who have raised me to be the type of person I am today, while acknowledging there are others who are less fortunate and not as loved or loved at all by their parents. Even more so, their are others who don't even have a Mother & a Father. I am thankful for having a full time job in this type of economy, while others are struggling, trying to look for a job, any job, so that they can get some money in their pockets. I am thankful that I am living in a happy state of mind, while others are feeling depressed & suicidal. I am thankful for all the blessings that come in my life while remembering all who do without.
We must remember that Thanksgiving is not only about the turkey & the feast that follows, but rather a quiet reflection of how God is showering His abundant blessings upon you. So thank Him with all your heart. Give thanks to God for each day, good or bad for the good days are meant to make you happy & the bad days are meant to make you strong. So with that being said, I wish all of you a happy Thanksgiving! I wish you all great love & great relationships with your family & friends.
